Bringing together European entrepreneurs. EIT Digital 21 March 2017, Brussels

By @SimonCocking. We spoke with the organisers of EIT Digital Conference  to find out more about it.

When is it on?

21 March 2017 in Brussels

How many years has it been going?

This is the second year we are doing it.

What was the inspiration to start it?

EIT Digital together with our partners are doing so many great things in the digital space. We wanted an opportunity to bring everyone together in one event to demonstrate our impact. It’s also an opportunity for us to meet with our various stakeholders and hear from them.

What exciting things can people look forward to for the 2017 version?

It’s an opportunity to get a snapshot of the latest trends in digitalisation and meet the people driving Europe’s digital transformation.

What opportunities are on offer for people / startups / investors and companies attending?

The exhibition area will feature concepts and innovations spanning the entire ecosystems of the digital landscapes – from infrastructure to industries, digital cities and wellbeing – from cybersecurity to internet-of-things and smart shopping.

The event will also be the occasion to discuss the EU’s digital future with Roberto Viola (Director General of the DG CONNECT) and our panelists Karen Boers (MD Startups.be), MEP Michal Boni and Henry Tirri (EVP and CTO Harman International), will question how the EU can succeed in its digital transformation. Patrick Prendergast (President & Provost Trinity College Dublin / EIT Governing Board Member) will look at what roles for education and human capital development in an innovation driven world?

The EIT Digital teams will also be there to meet and advise about startups and scaleups challenges and organising matchmaking sessions.

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

Come with an open mind and meet as many people as possible!

Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?
