BRING IT ON LEAD IN ADVOCATING IT CAREERS FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Primary and Post Primary school teachers gathered at the Wellington Park Hotel, Belfast to network and discover insights into new opportunities for pupils who aspire to follow a career in ICT. The conference organised as part of Bring IT On was hosted by Cool FM’s Pete Snodden and featured keynote speakers Karen Butler, Senior Manager with Belfast Applications Centre at Deloitte who discussed details of the Deloitte Brightstart School Leavers Scheme and Keith Hassard, Student Recruitment Manager of PWC.

IT3Sixty’s Director Clair Gheel and Mark Feeney led a talk on cyber security and applications that can be used to keep students safe online. Additional talks and workshops were facilitated by industry mentors from Microsoft, CEA and Junior Bring IT On, which provided teachers with a wider perspective of how to inspire the next generation of IT professionals.  The event is part of the multi-faceted Bring IT On programme, delivered by IT3Sixty to more than 11,000 students in over 150 schools in conjunction with the Department for Employment and Learning, and Belfast Metropolitan College.
