Following Oman’s first-ever blockchain conference, BPOS brings global industry leaders to Sri Lanka for a groundbreaking blockchain summit
MUSCAT, Oman — BPOS Global, fresh off its successful Blockchain Oman 2018 (www.blockchainomanforum.com), is taking the powerful keynote and master class format to Sir Lanka for Blockchain Sri Lanka 2018. The packed event was the first Blockchain conference in Oman enhancing awareness of Blockchain technology in the country — and BPOS Global is pleased to announce the first-ever such event in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
With the successful Muscat summit under its belt, BPOS Global’ s event makes a paradigm shift in Sri Lanka’s embrace of blockchain’s distributed ledger technology.
Following the incorporation of a new sister company in Sri Lanka, BPOS Global Sri Lanka is organizing Blockchain Sri Lanka 2018 (www.blockchainsrilankaforum.com), to be held on 25th & 26th September 2018, at Colombo’s five-star Cinnamon Grand Colombo.
The event will be held under the auspices of the Ministry of Telecommunication, Digital Infrastructure and Foreign Employment, with the Minister Hon. Harin Fernando, MP gracing the occasion as Chief Guest.
The keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Rohan Samarajiva, Chairman of the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) of Sri Lanka and the founding chair of LIRNEasia, an information and communication technology (ICT) policy and regulation think tank, active across the Asian continent.
Day one will commence early evening with an inauguration ceremony, followed by the keynote address and a presentation “The Vision for Distributed Ledger Technologies in Sri Lanka” by Nick Spanos, CEO of New York-based Blockchain Technologies Corp, followed by a Q&A session and a cocktail networking reception.
“As one of the earliest pioneers in the Blockchain space, Sri Lanka is one of the fertile grounds for the revolutionary technology,” said Mr. Spanos, also founder of Bitcoin Center NYC, the world’s first-ever live cryptocurrency trading floor.
Day two will feature four plenary ssessions and panel discussions, with an array of international speakers from New York, Ireland, Nigeria, Australia, India, Malaysia and Singapore together with four Sri Lankan speakers. There will be B2B meetings arranged on request, and BPOS Global is committed to form partnerships with service providers to take blockchain to every corner of Sri Lanka.
