June is LGBT Pride Month and we surveyed our users to find out which are the most LGBTQ-friendly tech companies.
Our app ‘Blind’ is a workplace app for tech workers, used by 40,000 Microsoft employees, 25,000 from Amazon, 10,000 from Google, 7,000 from Uber, 6,000 from Facebook, and thousands from other tech companies, making it easy to quickly poll tech employees on trending topics.
In the app, users were asked to answer with True or False to this statement: My current work environment is LGBTQ – friendly. A total of 2,475 responded, with users only being able to answer once. The survey ran from May 29 through June 3, 2018. Here’s what we found:
Overall, 92.3% saying the statement is True.
Among the companies with at least 50 responses, Pinterest finished with the highest percentage of employees responding with ‘True.’ A total of 98.2% of Pinterest employees responded that their workplace is LGBTQ-friendly.
Among the companies with at least 50 responses, Airbnb finished with the lowest percentage of employees responding with ‘True.’ A total of 87.04% of Airbnb employees responded that their workplace is LGBTQ-friendly.
Nine of the 13 tech companies finished with a higher percentage of ‘True’ responses than the overall survey average of 92.3%.
