When and where is it on?
Big Data Belfast is taking place on Thursday October 24 in the ICC Waterfront Belfast. It’s a one-day conference exploring the trends and opportunities emerging in business analytics, digital transformation, fintech, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and cyber security.
How many years has it been going?
Returning now for its seventh year, and supported by headline sponsor EY, Big Data Belfast has become a staple of the Northern Ireland tech calendar. In 2018, Big Data Belfast welcomed over 500 delegates from over 100 companies from a range of industries including technology, government, healthcare, academia and finance. We anticipate Big Data Belfast 2019 will raise the bar again.
Big Data returns to Belfast, October 24th, 2019
What was the inspiration behind the conference in Belfast?
Big Data Belfast originated from Big Data Week – a movement started to unite the global data communities. Over the years, the conference has grown and is now a standalone event showcasing the very best in innovation, thought leadership and best practice from across Northern Ireland and beyond.
What exciting things can people expect to hear at Big Data 2019?
Besides hearing from thought leaders from the world of data, technology and business, the event is the ideal opportunity for organisations, both large and small to engage directly with decision-makers, experts and talent. In the run-up to Big Data Belfast 2019, we’ve also released a podcast series called ‘Insights: Perspective from the World of Data’. This regular podcast series features engaging interviews with some of our Big Data Belfast speakers. You can listen to episodes now on Soundcloud, or subscribe on iTunes or Stitcher.
What opportunities are on offer?
The conference brings together business leaders and data practitioners with the aim of offering perspectives and insight into the measurable impact that data can have. Exhibitor opportunities are still available – whether you’re showcasing new technologies or products, hoping to engage with talent and decision-makers, or you just want to show off what a great company you are to work for, the event offers a great opportunity to engage with technical and business audiences.
Who will be speaking?
Speakers to Big Data Belfast 2019 are coming along from companies such as Github, Dell Technologies, RBS, Zscaler, Travis Perkins, Alert Logic, Automated Intelligence and Diaceutics. The final batch of speakers are due to be announced over the next few days. Be sure to check out our speakers’ page, or follow us on Twitter to keep up to date.
How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?
Our tickets usually sell out, so the best advice is to get one early. Simply visit our website http://www.bigdatabelfast.com/ and join us for what promises to be a great event.
What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?
The event is expected to attract delegates from not only Northern Ireland, but also from further afield. With a strong focus on both the technical aspects and the business use cases, the event will have a wide appeal. We have a strong line-up of sponsors – ranging from Dell, CME Group, Allstate Northern Ireland, SmashFly, SpotX, Altra Executives, Invest NI and Signifyd – who will be on hand and happy to engage with delegates and help them with their business challenges.
