Banking on sustainable energy projects in Ireland

Ireland must adopt more efficient and green energy.  Herein lies an opportunity for businesses and developers in Ireland.  Energy Cork will host a one-day conference on 12 April at the Clayton Hotel Cork City entitled “Energy Finance for a New Era”.  National and international bankers, investors, energy providers, entrepreneurs and businesses will convene to discuss innovative ways to fund energy projects in Ireland.

Speakers at “Energy Finance for a New Era” include the European Investment Bank, AIB, Power Capital, Triodos Bank, Renewable Gas Forum Ireland, Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), Enterprise Ireland as well as Alice Whittaker of Philip Lee Solicitors, the firm that closed Ireland’s first corporate power purchasing agreement between Microsoft and a Kerry windfarm.  Energy Efficiency Financing, Blockchain, Corporate PPAs, Project Financing and innovative, financial models will be discussed.

“Green energy is a major growth area for Irish businesses, land owners and investors; we need to de-carbonise our energy supply, improve our energy efficiency, and move to renewable energy. These projects can require significant capital and take time to return on investment. Creative and innovative ways to finance the opportunities of renewable energy will be discussed at this Energy Finance event, to shine a spotlight,” said Frank CaulChair of Energy Cork.

The transition to a low carbon economy in Ireland, while challenging, presents a number of exciting commercial opportunities for SMEs, professional service organisations, energy efficiency practitioners and energy professionals. This conference will also be of interest to planners, researchers, entrepreneurs, land owners and developers, and those with an interest in how energy projects and sustainable energy companies are funded.
