Bank of Ireland named country winner in the Global Finance World’s Best Consumer Digital Banks Awards

Bank of Ireland has been named as country winner in the Global Finance World’s Best Consumer Digital Banks Awards and will represent Ireland for the Western Europe and Global Awards in October. This is the 17th year that Global Finance has named the World’s Best Digital Banks.

Banks were selected based on the following criteria: strength of strategy for attracting and servicing digital customers, success in getting clients to use digital offerings, growth of digital customers, breadth of product offerings, evidence of tangible benefits gained from digital initiatives, and web/mobile site design and functionality.

First Round winners include Best Corporate/Institutional Digital Banks, Best Consumer Digital Banks and the Best Islamic Digital Banks at the country level. Winners were selected in Asia-Pacific, Central & Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Middle East/Africa, North America and Western Europe. The overall Regional and Global winners, and Global Sub-Category winners, will be revealed on 18th October in London at Global Finance’s Best Digital Bank Awards. Discussing the selection, Garvan Callan, Director, Customer, Digital & Innovation, Bank of Ireland said: “We are delighted to be named as country winner and we look forward to competing for the Western Europe and Global Awards. With many customers now using quicker and more convenient 24/7 online, mobile, and self-service channels, it is our responsibility to continually adapt and invest in our technology to ensure that we offer a service which is relevant to how consumers want to bank. I’m pleased to say that more than seven in ten of our customers are digitally active with 440,000 active mobile customers. To be nominated as Ireland’s representative in the Global Finance Awards is a great endorsement.”

“The most successful retail and corporate banks in the world are those that have effectively transformed themselves into fully-integrated digital banks, with a strong focus on user experience,” says Joseph D. Giarraputo, publisher and editorial director of Global Finance. “The winners of this year’s awards are those banks that understand that both corporate and retail clients expect their financial partners to provide easy access to a suite of financial products and tools that are fully-integrated into their broader digital life.”
