Graduating from Sheffield Hallam with a First Class (Hons) Degree in Business Communication, I started my professional career on the start-up scene, helping the mass adoption of wireless routers and fibre optic cables. Since then I have held various marketing, strategic and sales roles at the worlds largest IT, FMCG and 3D companies.
As times and leaders have changed, I have now made the move away from Virtual Reality (VR) to Augmented Reality (AR), a market size potential three times as big. I have joined one of the hottest AR start ups. Cimagine are continuing to lead the AR market for Retailers and Brands, boasting clients such as John Lewis, ShopDirect and Coca Cola globally.

I joined Augmented Reality (AR) startup Cimagine from 3D Virtual Reality (VR) giant, Dassault Systemes. I was excited to make the switch into AR due to the endless amount of use cases the technology could help to enrich every day life. It’s these sheer number of potential use cases and the value AR is already providing with todays devices which gives the market confidence AR will soon be $90BN industry, three times the size of VR in 2020.

Why will the AR/VR Innovate event be useful?
Hopefully during this event we’ll all have the opportunity to start thinking about our own business’ and everyday life to see how AR can help enrich their life by adding virtual context the physical world. Forget sky high thinking via AR glasses. Start thinking about the challenges today and the hardware in all of our pockets, through the lens of a camera on a mobile phone or even a tablet. In 2013, the number of mobile phones surpassed the number of people in Ireland. Surely there are more opportunities today to add AR experiences to the most popular devices. Cimagine believes that everyone will want to have the ability to see before they buy, anywhere and anytime they desire. This is all possible today via a click of a button, something retailers like ShopDirect (Littlewood Home App) are reaping the benefit from.
