The Anker MagGo 3-in-1 wireless charging station is a compact, folding base which can keep your smartwatch, earphones and smartphone charged. Anker has sent us a review unit to take a look at, and we have been using it for the last few weeks to see how it performs.
Folded up, the device takes up barely any space and even when in use, its slimline design disappears behind the devices you are charging.
This means the device can be used in many situations and will work equally well as a travel companion, as a desktop charger or even on your nightstand.
The Anker MagGo 3-1 wireless charging station has a very clever folding design, which leaves you with a very small device. You have 3 charging devices in something that will fit in the palm of your hand. From a travel point of view, when you don’t want to bring multiple power adapters and cables with you, this makes it an ideal device to throw in your bag.
The device itself is made from a durable white plastic, with each charging pad folding out via rubber straps, reminiscent of what you would find on a smartwatch. There is a single USB-C port on the back of the middle charging pad, and that’s the only connection you will need to charge 3 devices.
The charging pads feel solid and well-built. The white plastic is smooth in hand, but I do wonder if it will get a little grubby over time if this device is taken on the road with you all the time and thrown in and out of bags. Only time will tell, but it feels like it is built well enough to survive the rough and tumble anyway.
I travelled to a couple of events lately, and I took this charging station and the Anker 25,000 mAh Power Bank (which we recently reviewed here) with me, and with just these two devices packed, I could keep my smartphone, smartwatch, AirPods Pro and laptop charged both on the move and in the hotel at night. Packing so few devices actually made me keep thinking I had forgotten something, but the lighter and tidier backpack was very welcome.
While I have mainly used the MagGo 3-1 wireless charging station connected to the power bank, it also comes with a charging adapter, which has convenient swappable travel plugs included in the pack.
With 15-watt wireless charging for smartphones, it is not the fastest magnetic charger on the market, but it is certainly one of the most compact capable of charging 3 devices, so what you lose in speed, you gain in portability.
Each night before bed, I would top up my smartwatch quickly and then leave my phone and earphones charging while I slept so they were ready for the morning. I would then leave the watch charging while I was having breakfast, and I was all set for the day.
As I mentioned above, though, this device isn’t just suitable for when you are on the road. It works well on a desk in the office as it is compact, doesn’t take up a whole lot of space even when in use and can be easily tidied away when not.
It’s compact, well built, can charge many different devices, and importantly, it can charge 3 of them at a time. It allows you to carry only one device, and when paired with the power bank as I detailed above, you have a formidable combo for keeping all your devices charged from a very small footprint.
