Iceland’s low-cost airline, WOW air, is launching a once-in-a-lifetime job opportunity for travel enthusiasts.

As part of its “SnapTraveler” programme, the airline is looking for four social media-savvy individuals to become its travel correspondents for the summer and Snapchat their way across some of WOW air’s 28 worldwide destinations starting in Iceland, the home of WOW air.

Each individual will travel between any of the airline’s 28 destinations and share their experience with WOW air’s followers on Snapchat and other social media channels. There will be sixteen trips in total, with each SnapTraveler visiting four destinations over the course of three months.

WOW air is looking for individuals who are creative, fun and engaging to share their journey across the world. The airline will pay all expenses to the four SnapTravelers, including flights, hotels, activities and living expenses.

To be in with a chance to be part of WOW air’s SnapTraveler program, budding travellers must publish a creative Snap Story, no more than two minutes long, and upload it to snaptraveler.wowair.com.

Commenting on the initiative, Svanhvít Friðriksdóttir, Director of Communications at WOW air, said:

“For those with serious wanderlust, ambition and a flair for the creative, WOW air’s SnapTraveler program presents an amazing opportunity to not only make some priceless memories across the world, but gain social media exposure and experience as a pioneering digital travel correspondent.

“We’re very excited to review the submissions and giving our four lucky SnapTravelers a once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

WOW air flies all year round from Dublin to Reykjavik, fares starting from €69 one way. WOW air also offers transatlantic flights from Dublin to the United States via Reykjavik, serving Boston, Washington, Montreal, Toronto, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

With Snapchat taking off globally and particularly in Ireland, it is interesting to see a company come in with a different approach and get really creative with their storytelling.

There are only so many times we can see a Snapchat story about the cockpit of an airplane so giving the power of the Snapchat channel to people travelling over the summer period and visiting all different kinds of locations is a great, fresh move to make.
