AgileTour comes to Dublin, 5th October

By @SimonCocking

AgileTour is a worldwide community conference running in all major cities around the world. First held in Dublin in 2009 with 30 attendees, its grown to over 300 delegates and 20 presentations and workshops last year. This year its being held on October 5th in central Dublin, with companies sharing war stories and lessons learned through their agile transformations, running workshops and making connections with other ‘agilists’. This year we have companies such as Fleetmatics, AIB, Newswhip, Overstock and Ding sharing their experiences and ideas. And being a not for profit event, tickets are only €60 for all three tracks for the full day! But they sell out fast, so book yours now on the conference website where you’ll also find a full program, abstracts and speaker bios.

When is it on?

5th October, 9am-5pm at Chartered Accountants House, Pearse Street, Dublin

How many years has it been going?

Started in 2009 – AgileInnovation has been co-organiser with InspireQS since 2010

What was the inspiration to start it?

Its a worldwide conference appearing in every major city, organised by volunteers, to spread the message about Agile development approaches

What exciting things can people look forward to for the 2017 version?

20 Companies sharing their experiences, tips and tricks and specific agile topics through presentations and workshops. Also a great place to meet other folks practicing agile, building your network in this area and exploring opportunities for collaboration.

What opportunities are on offer for people and companies attending?

Don’t make the mistakes others have made when adopting agile. Find out what others have found to be successful, and learn about powerful practices and tools from others.

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

There will be two tracks of presentations, and one of workshops. Review the program before you go, and if you’re attending with colleagues then split up to cover more topics. Check if you need to pre-book a seat at any workshops as these are limited.

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?

Since its not-for profit, tickets are only €60 incl refreshments and lunch, so they sell out fast (already 70% sold). Go to the conference website to reserve your ticket.

Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?

The conference is organised and sponsored byAgileInnovation, Irelands leading Agile training and coaching company, andInspireQS, experts in software testing, especially in agile environments.
