When and where is it on?
Adminovate, Ireland’s only conference dedicated to the fund administration industry, will take place on January 17th at Trinity College, Dublin.
How many years has it been going?
This year is the second year of the event.
What was the inspiration to start it?
Founded by Fund Recs and Norio Ventures, Adminovate aims to bring together asset managers, fund administrators, fintech start-ups, service providers and more, to learn and share perspectives on the real risks facing the industry such as Brexit, talent retention, new regulation and blockchain and to kickstart the next wave of innovation to find viable responses and safeguard Ireland’s industry contribution.
One of the event’s core founders, COO at Fund Recs, Ciaran Walshe, said: “Since the financial crisis of 2008, the funds industry both locally and further afield has faced a series of challenges and risks, many of which still require a viable, long-term solution.
“With new global regulations introduced, operational costs increasing and technological advancements occurring every day, the local industry needs to work hard to ensure it can operate efficiently and stand up to its global counterparts both in the short term and into the future.
“Adminovate is about starting this conversation and discussing how we can positively disrupt the industry and find the answers needed to make it work better for all its members. We want to inspire the industry and challenge it to innovate its people, processes and technologies to ultimately safeguard its global contribution.”
What exciting things can people look forward to?
The day will kick off with a networking breakfast allowing delegates to connect with peers. Throughout the day, over 35 speakers, both local and global experts, will lead discussions on the fund administration industry tackling topics such as Brexit, talent and innovation. Every conference attendee will be given three chips to use to vote for their favourite startups exhibiting in the concourse area during breaks. The top three most voted startups will be given four minutes each to pitch their company to the audience on the main stage. The day will end with a networking quiz.
What opportunities are on offer for those attending?
