Software development company Dataconversion, which has evolved with the constantly changing technological landscape for over 45 years, says that companies are starting to see the value of implementing the most appropriate customer engagement strategies, some of which are seeing companies re-embrace traditional marketing methods.

As GDPR approaches its first anniversary (first coming into effect on the 25th May 2018) the Customer Engagement Benchmarking Report developed by Dataconversion in partnership with Amárach Research assessed the views of Marketing & Customer Engagement leaders across all major industries on the changes that they will face in the coming months.

Research revealed companies in Ireland are increasingly integrating their data to improve digital marketing efforts as well as re-implementing traditional marketing methods.

The introduction of GDPR caused a great deal of uncertainty

Speaking about customer engagement in the digital age CEO of Dataconversion Anna Browne commented “The introduction of GDPR caused a great deal of uncertainty over the past year. As a result of which, our research indicated that brands have begun to seek alternative engagement solutions, including a positive uptake again in direct mail as part of the marketing mix.”

Browne will be speaking at Techconnect Live on the key insights into customer engagement in the Irish market in the RDS, Dublin on 30th May 2019. The futuristic event will bring together over 5,000 tech business owners, key decision-makers, entrepreneurs, and investors from across Ireland.

Speakers for this year’s event include:

– John Pryor, Senior Client Partner – Video Games, Twitter

– Vanessa Tierney, Co-Founder, Abodoo

– Donna Creaven, Head of Multinational & Technology Supervision and Engagement, Data Protection Commission Ireland

– Kieran Mahon, Principal Strategist, Technology Strategy (formerly Vodafone)

With more solutions than ever before to engage with and attract customers, it has become vital today for businesses to ensure that their method of engagement is the most effective for them. Browne adds “Getting through the clutter of digital marketing messages and emails is such a challenge in the digital age that including direct mail in their overall engagement strategy makes sense for some businesses.”

Dataconversion has extensive customer engagement experience working on hundreds of integrated campaigns for their clients over the years. While e-dm & SMS campaigns continue to be an effective strategy for clients, they are seeing the uptake in direct mail within B2C companies and campaigns as a method of combating GDPR and digital clutter hurdles.

Within B2C companies, one of the areas Dataconversion is seeing the greatest uptake in is an increased spend on data solutions. This reflects global trends with CX Network noting that 29% of Customer Experience commentators cited Data & Analytics as having the greatest impact on their industry, topped only by Digital Customer Experience and Customer Loyalty.

Browne will be addressing some of the key customer engagement challenges faced by Irish companies today and discuss the importance of having a single customer view to improve upon existing relationships at Techconnect Live on 30th May 2019 in the RDS, Dublin.
