Irish Tech News’s Jillian Godsil to MC GMIT Mayo AI conference

The Innovation Hub (iHub) in GMIT Mayo is hosting a full day conference on “Artificial Intelligence and how this disruptive technology is going to change everything”, next Tuesday, 20 November.

This free event is open to all. Leading AI experts will discuss this transformative technology and how AI applies to your business. Guests will gain insights on practical applications, case studies and business opportunities, observe AI demonstrations in real time, learn about courses in Digital Technology and Life Long Learning available at GMIT, and network and connect with key experts, opinion formers and AI businesses attending the event.

The conference MC is Jillian Godsil, of Irish Tech News. The programme includes:

Prof Geraldine Boyle, UCC, and Director Irish Centre for Fetal and Neonatal Translational Research (INFANT): “AI for newborn health”;

Seamus Dowling, lecturer GMIT Mayo: “Don’t reinvent the AI wheel: using open-source AI tools and repositories”;

Prashanth Viswanath, Valeo: “Deep learning: the eyes and ears of today’s cars”; and,

Fi Hills, founder Fi Hills: “Heart is the new Smart – how to be a smart leader and create culture change that helps your workforce thrive in a disruptive age”.

GMIT iHub Manager and event organiser Turlough Rafferty says “The conference will be of interest to a broad range of people and sectors. The aim of the event is to introduce the concepts and benefits of AI to a non-technical audience, better informing them of the opportunities and challenges that this disruptive technology brings”.
