World Values Day seeks to increase the awareness and practice of values around the world, and highlight their crucial role in the wellbeing of individuals, families, organisations and society as a whole.

World Values Day 2022 Thursday 20th October

World Values Day provides an opportunity to think about our most deeply held values and to explore and act on them with others. This year’s theme is “Values for Community”. For thousands of organisations and individuals World Values Day is an opportunity to take stock of their values and answer questions such as:

– Are we really living our values every day?
– What actions can we take, what behaviours can we change, what different
choices could we make, to put our values fully into action in our work and daily lives?
– How can values help bring us together and help us overcome the many
alarming conflicts and divisions in our world?

#worldvaluesday facts and figures:

Since it was launched in 2016, World Values Day has reached around 45 million people on average each year in over 100 countries around the world. Universities, schools, hospitals, care homes, NGOs, local governments, and all kinds of commercial businesses take part each year, putting their values into action in a myriad of ways. Last year these included names such as PwC, Volvo, Dassault, the NHS, Ginebra San Miguel, the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, and Rotary International.

This year one of the main attractions will again be the Valuesthon, our rolling all-day programme of all kinds of online events starting at dawn in New Zealand, crossing time zones in Australasia, Asia, India, Africa, Europe and South America, finishing on the West Coast of the USA and Canada.

We will again be collaborating closely with the Values 20 engagement group in presenting a values-based communique to the G20 meeting of world leaders, which this year is being held in Bali. The Values 20 Summit and Values Festival will kick off on World Values Day and will form part of the World Values Day programme.

Our website has a number of helpful tools and resources, including Values Guides for individuals and groups, templates for social media use, and Values Challenge workshops for organisations. All available free from www.worldvaluesday.com
