Women of Color in Tech: A Blueprint for Inspiring and Mentoring the Next Generation of Technology Innovators by Susanne Tedrick, reviewed
This is a great book, with lots of good insights by the author. It definitely achieves its goal of helping its stated target group to get ahead in tech. On reflection the interesting thing though is that this book would actually be helpful for anyone looking to enter these professions and types of job. This might not be an issue, it is well written, useful, and with lots of logical and great tips for the reader. Maybe this is no bad thing, and we would recommend it to anyone actually!
So incredibly excited for this opportunity to speak – thank you @wisconsincs! https://t.co/ahY2je29zU

“I’m honoured to have been nominated alongside such amazing authors, and I am incredibly humbled that the book has been Highly Commended. I wrote Women of Color in Tech to not only help women of color to understand what their career options are in the tech industry but to help them to feel empowered that they can make it and be successful in an industry that has, historically, not embraced and valued them. To me, this commendation is a validation that our society is realising just how important diversity in tech is and that we need strong black female voices at the table.”
