EU finance ministers have announced another €500 billion in aid to support struggling EU economies. What % of the aid the EU has announced form part of the ‘reste a liquider’ (RAL). The UK was contributing to the RAL according the FT approximately 12% of EU spending between 2014-2018 so has it just incurred a further €60billion?

Of the €500 billion latest announcement €240 million will form part of the European Stability Mechanism which in 2016 UK renegotiated to not be liable for.

How long before we see Germans/ Dutch say no to Norther countries bailing out Southern European countries? It will not help a weaken EU if we start to see more political division nor is it likely to make UK exit negotiations any easier as 31st Dec draws ever closer.

Given the huge sums that Governments spend could Blockchain technology be harnessed to make commitments and actual payments more transparent.

Smart Contracts to trigger payments one pre-agreed criteria have been meet efficiency and Improve transparency so citizens have more TRUST in how their money is spent.
