ID cards are controversial and not universally popular, can blockchain help?

One Government one data base would be more efficient and cheaper than a multitude of numbers and references for citizens i.e., Passport, driving license, National Insurance, NHS, Unique Tax Reference.
UN has recently launched the ID2020 Alliance 1. Define the parameters for good an ethical digital identity system, 2. Responsible for funding and implementing digital identity projects with a social good mindset.

Estonia now issues ‘e-identities’ and it is claimed a digital authentication and signature system saves approximately 2% of GDP p.a.

Will Blockchain technology soon be used?

With the prospect of a recession looming governments are going to want all the help they can get to offset any economic down turn and may look a little closer at the Estonia model!
