Quick interview with our own Simon Cocking, who will speaking at the e-Commerce summit in Tralee, taking place October 2nd & 3rd.

1 min pitch for what you are doing now?

Writing, interviewing people, speaking, reading and reviewing new business books.

How was the last year, what worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?

Overall it was a great year. Naturally we would have liked twice as many new visitors to the Irish Tech News site in half the time, but we are seeing steady growth is great. What is working well is that we cover a diverse range of subjects, and have a strong team of writers, each working to their own strengths. It’s a pleasure to have so many talented contributors, each leaders in their own areas, and to read what they have to say.

What are your plans for the future?

To continue to grow our news platform, bring in more writers, from more parts of the world, and to continue to tell relevant and interesting stories, and if we can feature more positive green and clean tech, then even better too. Also with the growing rise of climate related issues. It is import to do our part to raise awareness about both the need to make changes quickly, and also the powerful and potentially revolutionary technology that has already been built and is being rolled out. Which may just help us to remedy the problems that humanity has created.

Why eCommerce is a vital trend for Irish businesses

What will you be talking about at this event?

Working with the organisers we have aimed to come up with something that offers as much value to the audience as possible. So this is what I will be talking about “Why eCommerce is a no brainer for Irish businesses in 2019 and beyond”. You can see more of my talks here on slideshare and here on youtube. Ireland is a small country, so it is important to do everything you can to bring in revenue for your business from beyond just Irish borders.

e-Commerce summit, Tralee, October 2nd, 3rd

What inspired you to attend it?

eCommerce is a vital trend for Irish businesses, so we were happy to share our insights. Naturally being located in Tralee is also a great factor too. Kerry is a beautiful county so we were delighted when we heard it was being hosted there.

Which influencers and websites do you follow to keep up to date with the latest developments?

Many many, twitter is a great tool for getting in insight into many different, interesting people’s ideas and thought processes. Linkedin is OK, and Instagram is great for visual inspiration.

How can people find out more about what you are working on?

On twitter naturally, Linkedin (it is a drag to only be able to have 30,000 connections) or email me at [email protected]
