By @SimonCocking. Great interview with Jeremy Goldman Entrepreneur, strategist, author of the book . & columnist. Founder, @FirebrandGrp. Catch him at Dublin Tech Summit speaking on Day 1 @ 10:40 or so on the How To Use Video To Build Your Brand Authority? panel.

What is your background?

For pretty much my entire year I’ve been devoted to figuring out what’s next in the world of marketing & communications. So from email marketing to social media to CRM to artificial intelligence, as the market evolves, so too does my career focus. It keeps life interesting.

Is it a logical progression to what you do now?

?In many ways, it’s been a logical progression, but that doesn’t mean it’s not challenging. When Going Social? came out, it seemed like everyone wanted me to tackle social media marketing projects. But by that point, those were becoming a little too routine for me. The trick has been for me to be ahead of the market, but not too ahead.

1 min pitch for what you do now?

?I run Firebrand Group, a futureproofing firm based in New York City. Futureproofing is really a combination of a number of different disciplines, including research and predictive analytics, that let us accurately predict the marketing arena of tomorrow, today.?

What will you be talking about at DTS?

?I’ll be covering how to use video to build brand authority. It’s no major secret that video is hot these days, but the market includes a number of brands flailing around without any sense of what they actually ought to be doing on video channels. It’s strategy first, content second – not the other way around.

What are your plans for 2017?

Continuing to find great forward-looking brands to partner and build.

How was 2016, what worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?

?I try to be hard on myself so I’d say 2016 wasn’t a banner year, but that’s mainly because I never think anything moves as quickly as I like! I try to fit 4 years worth of productivity into every year, and then I’m surprised I only fit 3 in.

How can people find out more about what you are working on?

I’m hyperactive on Twitter, so say hi to @jeremarketer anytime – or visit our site and send us an email. We’d love to hear from you.?

Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?

?Just that Dublin’s such a fantastic place to not only visit, but do business in as well. I’m looking to find more and more ways that Firebrand can support Dublin’s vibrant community in the year ahead.?
