West Cork Business & Tourism Awards – Closing Date 6th September

With the deadline of 6th September now just 2 weeks away, the organisers of the West Cork Business & Tourism Awards, The Southern Star and partners Cork County Council and AIB, are reminding businesses to get their entries in as soon as possible as submissions have been arriving steadily over the last few weeks.

The Southern Star’s Managing Director, Sean Mahon said this week “We’ve had a fantastic response again to the Awards, with some great examples of what local businesses and tourism bodies are bringing to the region.  It’s great to be able to have a platform where this success can be celebrated”.

He continued: “There’s still time for others to get involved.  Entry is very straightforward and there’s no charge and of course there’s the promise of lots of free publicity with The Southern Star for anyone who makes the top 3 in their category.  It would be a shame for anyone to miss out”.

There are 11 Awards categories including Best Marketing Initiative which can incorporate anything from a new logo or branding, a social media campaign, an ad campaign in the newspaper or on-line, to a new strand to your business that’s bringing additional customers.   Other categories include Best Use of Digital, Best Customer Service and Best Artisan Food Producer. Entrants are encouraged to enter up to 2 Awards to give themselves the best chance of becoming a finalist, where they stand to gain a lot of free publicity including a profile article and photograph in a special West Cork Business & Tourism Awards supplement to be published in The Southern Star in November, ahead of the Gala Awards final which will once again be held at the Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa Hotel.

Businesses can enter the West Cork Business & Tourism Awards at www.corkcountybusinessandtourismawards.ie or by picking up an entry form from The Southern Star, their local AIB branch, the Local Enterprise Office in Clonakilty or by calling 085 – 742 2294.  Entries close at midnight Friday 6th September.
