By @SimonCocking. Interview with Uri Ravin Browsing just wasn’t enough… So I created Croosing – Taking Browsing Forward. @CroosingSocial
What is your background?
I am a media entrepreneur with a background in coding, past owner and creative director of an ad agency and former editor of a leading national financial publication. Croosing’s co-founder, Yaron, is a serial tech entrepreneur, former founder and head of a software development house, with 20 years of proven ability to make magic through tech.
Is it a logical progression to what you do now?
Certainly. We have the marketing background, the creative touch, the tech know-how and a combined 40 years of building and running businesses.
One min pitch for what you do now?
We gave the humble hyperlink superpowers – and made it a superlink.
It has all the qualities of a regular link in terms of distributing, posting and promoting, yet allows both content creators and content consumers to achieve much more from every link they share or click. After 25 years of standstill, it’s about time someone will take the hyperlink forward.
What are your plans for 2017?
To continue the superlink’s quest to become a mainstream technology. As part of that, we’ll grow our beta users and early leaders base at www.croosing.com; nurture an ecosystem of developers, enabling them to build new superpowers and add them to the existing superlink technology, growing its strength over time; continue enrolling pilots with commercial organizations; and to reach more technology partners who share our vision of a better browsing experience.
How was 2016, what worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?
2016 was one crazy year. It started with a successful fundraising and ended with another successful round of fundraising. In between, we had a significant technological breakthrough (including some “world’s first”), a lot of learning from beta users and partners, some glitches and hiccups, and a very important sharpening of our USP and focus after realizing that: a. too many people don’t get the old message; and b. we weren’t focusing on delivering the right values.
What are you plans for DTS / what do you hope to get out of it?
We see DTS as part of our efforts to gain global exposure and to strengthen our network of connections and partners.
Who do you follow to keep up to date with the latest developments?
I read things like ITN, attend tech events like DTS and other tech meet ups. I’m a great believer in meet ups – both large and small. As a visitor, participant of a host – nothing can replace a personal, direct connections with entrepreneurs and innovators as a way to keep my finger on the pulse.
