This year’s conference will take place on 7-8 October at the RDS and we expect world-class technology leaders from Google, Uber, Mastercard, Reddit, Spotify, Buzzfeed, BBC and many more to make their way to Dublin next month.

When and where is it on?

7-8 October at the RDS, Dublin

How many years has it been going?

This will be our 4th annual conference.

What was the inspiration to start it?

Rory, one of the co-founders, worked in IT for over 10 years when Waterfall was the only real way to deliver projects. Yes, there were delays, and the customer wasn’t always happy, but that was because they changed the scope or didn’t ask for what they wanted upfront. After branching out and trying, unsuccessfully, at a startup the old adage “the customer is always right” hit home. This started the journey to build products that customers love.

After returning to the Enterprise, Rory spotted that the same old mindsets prevailed. There had been a shift to agile software development but in reality, this is really just fast Waterfall in most companies. The design and plan are set upfront so there is very limited opportunity to learn from the customer and course correct as you go. Rory and Catherine set up UXDX to help companies improve their approach to software delivery by shifting from delivering projects (pre-defined outputs) to building products that solve customer problems and achieve business outcomes.

UXDX returns to Dublin, 7th, 8th, October

What exciting things can people look forward to?

UXDX has grown to become the largest product gathering in Europe, with 1,500 attendees coming from as far away as Korea and New Zealand to learn from speakers and share their experiences with other attendees. We have planned 50+ talks, delivered by world-class technology speakers from Reddit, Spotify, Uber, Google, LEGO Group, Mastercard, Intercom, booking.com and more.

There’s a number of fun additional activities to make the experience even more entertaining. We have interactive walking tours, running groups, whiskey experiences, and our renowned after-party. Imagine 2 dynamic days with world product leaders discussing their strategies from product vision to execution – 2 days full of endless opportunities for learning and meeting new people!

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

Included are 8 hands-on training sessions for designers, developers, product managers and c-suite executives, You’ll have the opportunity to learn from and network with attendees from companies like Google, Amazon, IBM, Expedia, Zendesk, Dell and many more world-renowned brands and smaller startups and scale-ups.

Keep an eye on our social media channels and this page https://uxdxconf.com/attendees to see who else is coming and even try to schedule meetings in advance with the people you’d like to connect with at the event. Attend the after party, as this is the go-to place to meet everyone.
