Twitter Celebrates 1.7 Billion Poll Votes With New Time Duration Feature

Twitter’s poll feature was rolled out last October and has been a massive success. The feature is hugely popular and up to this point there has been over 1.7 billion votes in polls on the platform. In fact the feature has been so successful that there are now polls popping up on my timeline regularly each day.

Twitter is now celebrating the milestone with a new feature that allows you to modify how long the poll lasts for. Previously the only choice was to have a poll run for 24 hours and there were only two options available for polls.

Now there are up to four options for polls and the choice to run a poll for a longer period of time. You can set the time duration from a mere five minutes and up to as high as seven days.

The new poll feature is available on iOS, Android and the Web versions of the Twitter service. When you select the option to create a new poll you can set up to four options and below the ‘choice’ field for those options you will now see a poll length field which allows you to adjust the time the poll runs for.

This is a minor change so it is not going to introduce the floodgate of new users Twitter is hoping to find, however it is a change that users have been asking for since Twitter polls was launched so it will be a welcome introduction none the less.
