WiFicandy, the personal hotspot provider, is offering a solution for visitors to Ireland facing pesky roaming charges. With over 11.2 million international visitors to Ireland yearly, securing a personal hotspot for the duration of their stay is imperative due to international roaming charges on phones from non-EU service providers.

The international roaming tariff market is expected to grow a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.5% from 2019 until 2025. Much of the roaming tariff, 60%, will be going towards the usage of mobile data. Using WiFicandy will allow visitors constant access to WiFi, 3G and 4G service without international charges being processed by their service providers.

A solution for international travellers, 86% of WiFicandy rentals hail from the United States. CEO and Founder Andreea Slabutu stated, “WiFicandy provides a simple solution for those travelling to Ireland, especially those travelling from outside the EU who would be affected by roaming charges by their mobile providers for using their own data. Our device is available to pick up at kiosks at the Regus by Dublin Airport, Shannon Airport and Dublin city centre. Alternatively, the device can be dropped to your hotel or Airbnb. The return is just as simple – drop it in a postbox at any of the airports before departure and it will be returned to WiFicandy.”

Enabling seamless connectivity at the arrival stage of a visitor’s trip by providing a WiFi rental solution, WiFicandy can be used on up to ten devices at once across phones, laptops and tablets. This ensures that travellers avoid international roaming charges their phone providers charge.

Slabutu added, “People are paying for certainty when using WiFicandy. Having a personal hotspot from WiFicandy for the duration of a visitor’s trip to Ireland guarantees them unlimited WiFi, 3G and 4G services across the country on multiple devices. The next step for WiFicandy is to expand on partnerships to help increase access to their device for all visitors to the country.”

Next steps for WiFicandy include expanding into all airports in Ireland to offer visitors a quick and accessible experience. From there, the company will look to expand into the US and other long-haul markets that have a higher impact on roaming for the Irish outbound visitors.
