Are you one of Ireland’s best Fintech companies? FinTech20 Ireland 2017 open for entries

What is your background briefly?

We are a husband and wife team who started out from our kitchen table and we are delighted to be growing our business from our city centre offices and are both really passionate about what we do and about supporting our clients. We started Top Tier Recruitment in January 2016 with the core idea being giving our clients the best possible experience in terms of consistent delivery, client service and added value. Paul’s background is financial recruitment (agency and in house) and mine is banking but with a major focus on the FinTech and Technology space.

Does it seem like a logical background to what you do now?

Paul comes from a background in recruitment so this move made complete sense for us. For me, moving from a traditional banking role into technology recruitment was a bit of a leap but a lot of the fundamentals are the same. I was always very client focused and developed a really strong network in the technology and FinTech space. A lot of the start ups we see now would have worked from the workbench in the branch I managed. I also completed an M.Sc in Digital Marketing last year and this is a big focus of how we attract talent and is really the future of recruitment.

1 min pitch for what you are doing now?

As we grow our recruitment and research team, we are expanding our client base and can also aim to head more events and produce more content. This will in turn help us to better meet our candidates recruitment and career needs. We are growing out our recruitment and research teams so support our expanding client base and we are also aiming to start to do more events and produce more content to help our clients and candidates meet their recruitment and career potential.

Why did you get involved with the 2017 Fintech 20 Ireland event?

FinTech is a key area for our business because we enjoy working with the diversity in the industry in terms of requirements, various types of companies in various stages of growth and development and can see the impact of our work as the companies grow.

We think it is important to support events like this in the FinTech space in particular – the more events there are that are well supported and attended, the more the FinTech ecosystem will grow in Ireland.

We like having the opportunity to get out of the office and meet with new companies and current clients in a different setting. It allows us to really understand new challenges and better understand how we can support the sector going forward.

What type of companies do you work with?

We enjoy the diversity and the challenges that come with working with this range of companies.

Particularly growing companies or those that have just closed a new funding round – technical requirements are normally broad, needs are urgent but mostly we like to get to know the culture and matching that – often the hardest part.
