There is still a way to go for a seamless XR ecosystem, Jan Pflueger, Audi, speaking at AV VR, May 10th

1 min pitch for what you are doing now?

As a designer with analytical skills and an overarching view, I am developing the strategies and prioritize the set of topics for future development and integration into enterprise infrastructure.

I am using my long term experience and network to prepare the base for enterprise adoption – connecting the right people with the fitting solutions and creating transparency about the outcome to be expected.

How was the last year, what worked well, what didn’t move as quickly as you would have liked?

In the past months I saw a lot of technical approaches upcoming and solutions getting mature enough to close some of the gaps we had in using XR in the automotive area. We also could introduce a lot of different solutions at Audi AG, but the adoption of new technologies in the enterprise context is still a quite challenging endeavor.

To convince people doing the right things you have to show them the value and open their eyes for the future. For that reason I decided to found advisXR to act as a connector between the different industries and perspectives from a neutral point.

What are your plans for the future?

To reach the goal of a seamless XR ecosystem there is still a way to go. This will only be possible if we overcome the classical boundaries and start working together on defined interfaces and standards. I want to foster the cross industries network and as a personal favorite see my vision of a dynamical virtual twin – the context sensitive, real-time generated connector between real and virtual world – become real.

What will you be talking about at this event?

In my talk I will give an overview of the state of enterprise XR and the manifold requirements that have to be fulfilled. Furthermore, I want to jump in into the discussion about enterprise XR versus consumer adoption in general and sharing some of my views on what makes the difference and drives the business. I am looking forward to it!

What inspired you to attend it?

Alex Gibson, the event organizer, invited me to give a talk at last year’s conference and I found out that ARVR Innovate is a hidden jewel – one of my highlights of conferences

It’s a very condensed and familiar event with a lot of highly experienced, motivating people with an open mindset and inspiring discussions during the whole day.

Which influencers and websites do you follow to keep up to date with the latest developments?

There are numerous sources outside and for sure I booked the ARVR innovate newsletter!

I am also following channels on social media of relevant people and companies, but if you want to have an overarching view on the field you cannot focus on only one area and you really get to know what’s going on outside – it is my personal network which gives all these insights I need to put the part of the puzzles together.

How can people find out more about what you are working on?

Some of the official work might be published on the company website of Audi AG or you will find me giving some talks at events. Right now I am starting my own activities with advisXR and you will surely find some updates in the future on my website (www.advisXR.digital).The easiest way is just to get in touch with me and ask me directly.

Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?

You’d like to know what motivates me?
Besides my little family – there are so many great people outside driving the future and inspiring us every day! I am proud and it puts a smile in my face to be part of that time where we all together shaping the future of XR with such a great network.
