This book could be very much one which depends on what flavour you like your gurus. There was one story about how he chose to address a conference a week after he had been in a car crash, to demonstrate his raw vulnerability. It was hard to then wonder what sort of car crash it was. Surely if it was serious in anyway, broken legs, fractures, bandages, it would have been medically dangerous to show up and speak at an event. If on the other hand someone just clipped his wing mirror, or hit his stationary car while reversing, then this did bring to mind elements of Alan Partridge, talking of near-death experiences that he saw on TV.

As we said I guess it depends on what flavour you like your gurus. There can be a tendency with some to feel they have something unique to tell you, and then, very quickly look to identify a way to commoditise and sell this back to you. Can reinvention be reduced to a formula? I guess if you think so then this book might be for you?
