The Power to Change- Campbell Macpherson

By Campbell Macpherson

Change can be tough. It comes in many forms and it is relentless. Current events have accelerated the pace of change in all our lives – Covid-19, Brexit and the Climate Crisis have left many of us anxious about our future.

We need more than the ability to cope with change, we need to be able to embrace change and look for opportunities. The Power to Change does just that.

Businesses and organisations have had to adapt rapidly. If they wish to be successful, they need to move beyond cutting costs and create a culture that embraces change.

Leading change is now the key leadership skill. No-one changes because they are told to. We only change if we want to. As leaders, it is our job to help our people to want to change.

COVID-19 has given us all a once-in-a-lifetime gift; to slow down and reflect on what needs to change. The Power to Change helps readers deliver their own change, by breaking down our natural reactions and demonstrating how we can challenge them. Through building understanding and resilience, we can all learn to harness our own Power to Change.

We can only change if we want to

The way we work, the way we live, and even how long we live, are changing in dramatic and fundamental ways. Common natural reactions to this change include denial, panic, confusion, and anger.

The Power to Change provides the tools needed to use these natural responses to our advantage, rather than hindering our progress.

Embracing change is the most important skill that any of us can hone. And the power to do this is contained within every single one of us.
