The latest in a series of books by Alex Osterwalder and Yves Pigneurs, aiming to dig deep into the nuts and bolts of what makes for a successful startup, and the ability to then grow into serious going concern too. There are many good case studies in this book, going into enough detail to whet your appetite and guide you towards the ones that may be most relevant for your own interests and startup sector.

We are never a fan of the landscape layout for books, but their last one was like this too, so they are clearly committed to laying out their content in this way. They use colour, images and graphics well to help visually illustrate their concepts and it does result in an appealing book. Overall, allied with the work of Steve Blank and others, we are in a fortunate period where a number of academic writers are able to clearly articulate best practices which can only help new startups looking to launch their own ideas and potentially unicorn businesses too.
