Technology and the Future of Fashion event in Galway

Rent the Runway (“Rent the Runway” or “RTR”) (Nasdaq: RENT)– the world’s first and largest shared designer closet that enables women to rent a la carte, subscribe or shop resale from hundreds of designer fashion brands, has announced details of an event taking place on April 19th at 6pm, in Galway’s PorterShed new city centre event space.

Anushka Salinas, President & COO of Rent the Runway will, as part of her visit to the Galway office, take part in a live fireside interview that will explore the intersection of technology and fashion. Titled ‘Rent the Runway: Technology and the Future of Fashion’, the interview will be hosted by Irish Times Business and Technology journalist, Ciara O’Brien.

The evening will explore topics ranging from innovations designed in Rent the Runway’s European Technology Hub in Galway, to AI and data journeys undertaken by the company to disrupt the trillion-dollar global fashion industry.

Audience numbers are limited and admission is free.  The event is strictly ticketed and early eventbrite registration is advised. Closing date to register for tickets is April 5th.

Rent The Runway established its European Technology Hub in Galway in April 2019.  Based in the historic Claddagh area of the city, the growing team in Galway tackles core technology challenges and influences the next generation of services critical to Rent The Runway’s success and continued growth.

The Galway office is Rent the Runway’s first international office outside the US and enables the company to significantly expand its Software Engineering, Product Development, Machine Learning Engineering and Data Science footprint. Rent The Runway’s Galway-based employees have the opportunity to grow their careers across several roles and career paths in Technology.  Attendees at the fireside chat will have the opportunity to meet and chat with many of the Rent the Runway team, including the site lead and Managing Director of the Galway office, Dorothy Creaven.
