Techies 4 Temple Street returns to Dublin this July

Techies 4 Temple Street – the unique urban treasure trail – returns to Dublin on Friday, 8th July. Now in its second year, Techies 4 Temple Street combines outdoor activities with a whole host of fun challenges.

The crown of ‘Smartest Techies’ was claimed by Corvil, who tackled a series of Twitter challenges including selfies with live animals and Riverdancing. They will join over 150 teams on 8th July who will battle it out to raise the coveted Techies 4 Temple Street Trophy.

At the inaugural event last year, over 700 members of the tech community and their trusted advisors and partners, busked, hoola-hooped and sang their way around Dublin City Centre, raising over €150,000 in much-needed funds for Temple Street Children’s Hospital.

This year, funds raised by participating teams along with the generous support of leadership sponsors Homestay and Zendesk will go to support the construction of Temple Street’s new Neurology & Renal Outpatients Unit.

Temple Street is the national centre of excellence for paediatric Neurology and Renal Dialysis & Transplantation. Over the past eighteen months, Temple Street Foundation has been working hard to raise the €5 million needed to make it a reality. The new unit will directly benefit over 6000 sick children who attend Temple Street every year.

The event is the creation of Hostelworld Co-founder and Homestay Founder Tom Kennedy, who has pulled together an impressive organising committee for the event.

Our teams had a fantastic time trailing around Dublin as part of this terrific event and we are thrilled to have won first place among such admirable competitors.
