When is it on?
4th May 2017, City Hall, Cork
How many years has it been going?
Tech Summit is in its 6th year and this is also the 20th anniversary of IT@Cork which is the non-profit technology focussed group organising the event.
What was the inspiration to start it?
The event originated from the obvious demand in the region when we surveyed our 300 IT@Cork member companies. We have a large number of very high profile international companies within the region doing some amazing things and the summit started out as a way for them to share their stories. It quickly expanded year over year to where we are today attracting some of the very best speakers from some of the largest tech companies in the world.
What exciting things can people look forward to for the 2017 version?
There are a lot of items on offer this year not only will they hear some fascinating talks and panel discussions across our three theme’s of Artificial Intelligence, HealthTech and the Future of Work but we will also have exhibitors promoting their services and also demonstrating some of the latest devices in action and how they can also enable commercial opportunities within the attendees organisation.
What opportunities are on offer for people / startups / investors and companies attending?
Our event offers excellent Networking opportunities throughout the day, one of the core pillars of IT@Cork is driving collaboration across our members and we feel this year we are after planning the agenda in such a way that allows for plenty time to meet other attendees. There are also opportunities for startups on the day to meet with potential investors who will be in attendance. Our event is not only for tech focussed people however and we aim to make it generic enough that it will equip both the IT professional and business professional alike with the information needed to help them understand how they can take advantage of the latest tech trends.
What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?
Download the app in advance which is exclusive for attendees and plan your day to cover talks and networking.
How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?
www.itcork.ie – The event usually sells out mid to late April, we have ensured this year that we limit attendance in order to provide the best overall experience for our attendees so book fast in order to avoid disappointment.
