What is Podsie?
Podsie combines the research-backed learning strategies of retrieval practice, spacing, and interleaving, customized by the mastery data of each individual student, to enhance learning both inside and outside of the classroom. They want to ensure that the hard work that teachers put into teaching doesn’t go to waste, while ensuring that they are supporting the learning needs of their individual students.
Over the past year, we've been building a web tool that helps teachers implement personalized spaced review in their classrooms so that their students can better retain what they've learned.
The tool is now publicly available, and it's free. Sign up at https://t.co/tWAV5YBMXW!

How does the learning science come into play?
Retrieval Practice
Retrieval practice is an incredibly powerful strategy in which students actively draw out previously-taught knowledge from their brains, thus enhancing “diverse forms of learning, including memory, problem solving, and generalization to new situations.”
When they challenge students to frequently and intentionally retrieve knowledge, they grow in their abilities to retain and quickly access information. The team at Podsie believe that both retention and quick retrieval are essential foundations for students when it comes to “deeper learning” and transferring skills and conventions to different contexts. Traditionally, quizzes and tests are used in the classroom as a form of retrieval practice.
At Podsie, they completely combine the research-backed power of frequent, low-stakes retrieval practice with spacing and interleaving to enhance the learning of students.
