Ahead Of Race Weekend TCS And Jaguar TCS Racing Set Guinness World Records To Celebrate Formula E Gen3 Era

Jaguar TCS Racing head to London this weekend for the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship season finale (15/16 August) – the last of the GEN3 era – fighting to win both the Teams’ and Drivers’ World Championships.

Jaguar TCS Racing have enjoyed significant success throughout the third-generation of Formula E – with more race wins than any other team – and to celebrate the British team secured two official Guinness World Records.

The first record, achieved in collaboration with Official Title and Technology Partner, Tata Consultancy Services’ (TCS), saw Jaguar TCS Racing create the largest GPS drawing on foot. The 100km drawing across the streets of London outlined the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 and showed how both organisations are together ‘for the long run’.

The Guiness World Record-breaking stunt, designed as a tribute to the 18 wins Jaguar TCS Racing have taken to date in the GEN3 era, depicts the Jaguar I TYPE 7. Some 29 runners – comprised of both Jaguar TCS Racing and Tata Consultancy Services team members – completed the +100km route which started and finished at TCS’ London headquarters.

Each runner carried a single GPS device passed baton-style between participants, meeting strict Guinness World Records’ criteria for recognisable artwork, continuous route mapping, timestamped GPS files, and full participant logging. The full record-breaking route image was released at 9.00 BST tomorrow, Wednesday 12 August.

Jaguar TCS Racing have also set the Guinness World Record for the most participants in a racing simulator videogame relay. Taking to the virtual 2km London ExCel track, where the British team has taken victory on three previous occasions, 109 competitors at Jaguar TCS Racing’s technical HQ helped secure the team’s second official World Record.

These achievements reflect a remarkable GEN3 era for Jaguar TCS Racing. As well as the team’s 18 wins in the GEN3 era to date (a total unsurpassable by any other team), Jaguar TCS Racing have secured a further 23 podiums and 1,144 points.

Jaguar TCS Racing now head into their home races in London, the last of the GEN3 era, holding a 14-point advantage over nearest rivals Porsche as the British team look to secure the second Teams’ World Championship in three seasons.

In his final races for the team after a decade with Jaguar TCS Racing, Mitch Evans is fighting for his maiden Drivers’ World Championship. The Kiwi arrives in London second in the standings, just two points behind leader, Andretti’s Jake Dennis.

In his debut season with the team, António Félix da Costa still has an outside chance of taking his second Formula E Drivers’ World Championship. The Portuguese talent is sixth in the standings – 33 points off the top spot. The top nine drivers are still in mathematical contention for the title.

Technology proven on-track by Jaguar TCS Racing has directly enhanced development of the Jaguar Type 01, the new luxury four-door GT that will be revealed later this year.

Rounds 16 & 17 of the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will take place on 15-16 August at 15:05 BST.

Mitch Evans, Jaguar TCS Racing driver #9, said: “It has been an incredible journey with Jaguar TCS Racing over the past 10 years, but we are hoping to write one more special chapter in London this weekend. There’s all to play for in the Drivers’ championship and it would be an incredible feeling to win that, while the opportunity to secure our second Teams’ world title at our home event gives us even more motivation heading into London.”

António Félix da Costa, Jaguar TCS Racing driver #13, said: “It has been a great first season at Jaguar TCS Racing and there have been so many high points along the way. The team has always enjoyed a strong record at home and we are hoping for the same again this weekend. We are still in championship contention and so I will be going all out to end the season strongly to deliver the maximum out on track in London.”

Ian James, Jaguar TCS Racing Team Principal, said: “GEN3 has been a record-breaking era for the team, and what better way to mark it than by officially putting our name into the Guinness World Record books ahead of this weekend’s London E-Prix.

“Heading into our home event in strong contention for the Drivers’ and Teams’ World Championships is what we have been striving towards all season. And, whilst we know how strong the competition will be, we will do everything to support our bid for the Drivers’ title. In addition, delivering a second Teams’ World Championship in three seasons across a record-breaking era for the team in GEN3 would be a fitting finale.

“I’m confident that the team will thrive under pressure, while we know from last year how competitive our Jaguar I-TYPE 7 can be around the unique London ExCel circuit.”

Abhinav Kumar, Chief Marketing Officer, Tata Consultancy Services, said: “Running marathons and motorsport racing requires similar qualities: endurance, intelligence, and executing a winning race strategy; mile after mile, lap after lap. TCS has been part of many record-setting marathons and podium celebrations this year. So, it was natural to bring the two sports together by running side-by-side with Jaguar TCS Racing across London to trace the outline of the Jaguar I-TYPE 7 and set another world record. Congrats to the team and all the runners who set this new record.”
