Taylor Wessing is proud to announce it has become the first legal firm to partner with Techies Go Green, a not-for-profit community of technology businesses committed to reducing their carbon footprint.
As legal partner, Taylor Wessing will provide pro bono legal advice to Techies Go Green members to support them to identify and manage climate action opportunities and risks, facilitate sustainable investments, enhance internal governance arrangements, nurture stakeholder relationships, and ensure alignment with national and global standards.
Furthermore, the organisation will also be presenting at Techies Go Green Live in the Guinness Enterprise Centre (GEC) on October 17th. The event is set to bring businesses together to explore the significant impacts of climate change and the actions companies can take to mitigate same.
Taylor Wessing, a global law firm with a full-service office in Dublin, is committed to being a responsible business and making a positive impact on clients. Taylor Wessing is actively working towards reducing its own carbon footprint and from a global group level, it is setting and verifying targets with Science Based Target’s Initiative, as well as examining its Scope 3 emissions.
Techies Go Green was founded in 2021, and its members include tech SME and Fortune 500 companies, all with the common goal of verifiably reducing their greenhouse gas emissions and becoming more sustainable. Techies Go Green supports members through knowledge sharing, networking and collaboration opportunities to support them to decarbonise their operations.
Speaking about the partnership, Paddy Quinlan, Partner at Taylor Wessing Ireland said: “Taylor Wessing is privileged to be the first legal firm to partner with Techies Go Green and is excited at the prospect of collaborating with leading tech firms in Ireland and the UK focused on sustainability. This new partnership with Techies Go Green will involve our market leading partners advising Techies Go Green members on ESG matters, further underpinning our commitment to collaborating with wider industry to ensure businesses can continue to thrive and operate sustainably into the future.”
Michael O’Hara, Founder Techies Go Green, added: “We’re delighted to have Taylor Wessing on board as our legal partner. Growing legal requirements coming from government and the EU, together with supply chain issues and stakeholder commitments, can often be a barrier to businesses progressing or prioritising sustainability. Having a firm with strong sustainability expertise such as Taylor Wessing offers great value to our Techies Go Green members.”
