TalentHub Launches new Technical Recruitment
TalentHub are a specialist Digital and Technical recruitment agency located in Dublin City Centre. Our motto? Simply put, we place a huge importance on our candidates needs as well as being true business partners to our clients. In the relatively short (but very long!) space of 4 years, we have built our brand as the go-to experts for hiring Digital & Transformational talent.
After years of mastering Digital with Tech as a natural add-on, we have made a huge investment recently by hiring a dedicated Technology and Data department, with our recent new arrivals – a team of extremely talented and experienced consultants returning to Ireland from abroad.
Ireland is currently experiencing a shortage of tech talent and this will continue to be the case in 2020 as Brexit will result in many global companies relocating their headquarters to Dublin, reducing the available talent pool even more. With the demand for talent in Technology and Data in this 4th Industrial Revolution, attracting the most sought after and skilled ‘go to market ‘candidates is vital.

How are you different compared to other Tech Recruiters out there?
Our unique team operating model, which employs much of the Agile methodology used by our clients, allows us to deliver the best possible outcomes for our clients and our candidates.
Our modus operandi in TalentHub means that our Client Management and our Resourcing teams work together in a highly collaborative environment. Whether it’s a contractor or a permanent employee, we help our candidates find the right job, our clients hire the best talent, and both parties achieve the best long-term success from their recruitment processes.

Tell us about your new technical recruitment team?
Our new Technical Recruitment Manager, Pamela O’Connor, who leads the team in full force, has a strong track record in delivering top tech talent within eCommerce, Pharma and FMCG industries for over the past 8 years. Pamela has previously worked in-house in building technical teams from the ground up with one of the most well-known CTO’s in the tech industry. A former Science Teacher up to honours A Level, Pamela has an unrivaled knowledge of the Data Science and Analytics sector.
Our Senior Technical Recruiter, Rob Griffin has more than 5 years’ experience recruiting in the technical space, with successful stints in both Canada and the UK working for such brands as Vodafone and Deutsche Bank. Prior to TalentHub, Rob worked onsite for high growth businesses in the FS and Telco’s sector and was part of the build-out of high functioning teams for offices at home and abroad.
And last but definitely not least, Senior Technical Recruiter, Stephen Kilgallon who has recently relocated back to Ireland from the “the Great White North” where he spent two years recruiting technical professionals across Canada. Much of this time was spent working for the world’s 2nd largest recruitment company, Randstad, where Stephen built and managed a busy Technical Contracting desk. Prior to this, Stephen had a successful career at a well known Dublin agency where he built high performing teams for some of the most innovative global FinTech brands.
Why will you do well?
We believe that the industry knowledge our tech team holds the key to truly understanding the hiring challenges our clients face. We are not simply a responsive ‘keyword matching’ function, but rather a team that really gets under the skin of what our clients need and how best to attract talent that not only match the required criteria, but are committed to building a future with the company.
What are your plans for the future?
Our ambition is to be the go-to team for Technology and Data in the same way our colleagues are for E-commerce and Digital Marketing. We are committed to providing a first class consultancy service to our clients, ensuring that the hires we make help to transform and propel their businesses.
Who are you trying to attract to your service?
Interestingly enough, we don’t only hire for what the market would deem to be pure-play tech companies – the FAANG’s of the world (Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix & Google types) – whilst the big name tech firms are of course great clients, we are also keen to build up our portfolio of businesses whose main proposition is non tech but have this as a function within their essential services. We have a stellar track record in hiring some of the best Technology and Data talent to businesses one would not usually associate with this market.
When did TalentHub first launch?
Lorraine Fretwell and Ellie Doyle co-founded TalentHub in 2015, with a vision to become the leading Recruitment partner to the Digital and Technology sector. They both previously had fantastic track records in the UK and Ireland in helping some of the biggest eCommerce, Marketing and Technology brands acquire top tier talent, as well as having worked onsite with some of the most high profile Tech names such as PaddyPower.com. Over the past 4 years, we have built a team of 14 very talented employees and have a client retention rate of 96% since inception.

What tips would you give to others looking to build their business?
- Adapt quickly to any changes in the business or in your customer markets – don’t be afraid to alter your strategies or pivot when you need to.
- In the same way, you build an internal team you trust; you should also find a collection of advocates what will help along the way.
- Whether you are a sole trader, partnership, limited company or whatever structure you adopt, align yourself with people you have absolute faith and trust in.
- And finally, If the only reason you are setting up a new business is for the payday at the end, don’t! We all spend far too much time at work for it not to be enjoyable – so whilst the dream of scaling and selling a business is feasible, make sure you enjoy the journey
What are your favorite tech gadgets?
Our favorite tech gadget at the moment is our FitBit watches which we use for our monthly challenges to see who can build up the most steps. These challenges encourage health and wellbeing in the workplace—with a little friendly competition mixed in, too.
