Synology release 3 NEW DiskStations – High-value NAS servers for homes and businesses

Synology have today announced the release of the  DS216se, DS216play and DS416.

DS216se features a 800MHz processor and 256MB RAM, making it a feature-rich NAS for beginners. It also has upgraded feature such as scheduled power on/off letting user to further reduce its power consumption when the NAS is not in use.

As the successor of DS214play, DS216play comes with a brand new dual-core 1.5GHz processor with hardware transcoding engine, and 1GB RAM. The upgraded processor enables DS216play to transcode H.265 4K videos. Making DS216play a most valuable multimedia-optimized NAS server from Synology.

DS416 is a great upgrade from its predecessor DS414. DS416 features a 1.4GHz dual-core processor with hardware encryption engine, 1GB RAM, dual LAN ports, three USB 3.0 ports and one located on the front for easy quick access. The huge upgrade in hardware resulting 90% gain on encrypted file reading and writing compared to its predecessor.

All three products above are backed with Synology’s 2-year limited warranty.
