Synology announce their biggest ever NAS

Synology have announced their biggest ever NAS – RackStation RS18016xs+ and Expansion Unit RX1216sas. Storing over a petabyte of data using 8TB HDDs.

As the successor of RS10613xs+ the RS18016xs+ comes with two PCIe 3.0 x8 slots, allowing installation of two dual-port 10GbE network cards and delivering blazing-fast performance at over 3,900 MB/s throughput and 348,000 sequential IOPS.  When connected with RX1216sas the RS18016xs+ can store up to 1,440TB of total raw storage capacity. Synology RS18016xs+ simplifies data management, optimises virtualisation environments and also supports Btrfs file system, bringing the most advanced storage technologies to meet the management needs of modern large scale businesses.

Both RS18016xs+ and RX1216sas are backed with Synology’s 5-year limited warranty.
