Eoin Clarke, Managing Director at Switcher.ie
The nominations for Switcher’s third annual broadband awards have been announced. Eir leads the field with 10 nominations across the 12 categories, while Virgin Media, Vodafone and Sky follow with 9, 8 and 6 nominations respectively. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in the Marker Hotel on 20th April.
Eoin Clarke, Managing Director at Switcher, said: “The Switcher Broadband Awards is the only event in Ireland that specifically recognises the best of the Irish broadband industry. Thousands of customers have used Switcher.ie to check their broadband speeds or switch providers and we’re using their ratings to determine the award winners in some categories.
“The broadband market is more competitive than ever, with a multitude of products on offer, and it can be difficult for consumers to figure out the best deal. Switcher.ie already provides free, impartial broadband comparisons for consumers. By highlighting the best broadband providers and products at our annual Broadband Awards, we hope to make it even easier for consumers to make informed buying decisions and help them seek out the right products for their needs.”
Winners will be selected based on a combination of thousands of customer ratings from the Switcher.ie site, results from a national consumer poll and an independent judging panel comprising of some of Ireland’s leading consumer technology journalists.
There will be 12 awards presented on the night, including the coveted Best Broadband Provider award, recognising the broadband provider in Ireland that has achieved the highest overall customer ratings across all categories.
