SUXMAS – The Christmas Party for StartUps

Thursday 11th December

What happens when you get 350 people from the Irish StartUp Community in a room together and throw in some Christmas magic? … Why SUXmas of course!

Every year there are lots of events in the startup community. Tech meetups, legal meetups, been there done that talks, hacker events, and pitching competitions to name a few. At these events there is always an agenda for the attendee – to meet someone, to learn something, get press coverage, to demo a product, or to catch a VC’s eye. Most of the time it’s only one or maybe two of the core startup team that attend an event. Techies know techies, CEOs know CEOs, and so on. A lot of the time early stage startups are just two or three people. It can be a lonely and scary place without support from the network in the startup community.

The concept of StartUp Christmas, SUXmas (www.suxmas.com), is a party for the community by the community. Everyone from the startup community is invited to come together and have a big celebration for surviving the year. There’s no exclusive group or any agenda. It’s simply a mixer where connections can be made to create a stronger more inclusive startup community in Ireland.

This year’s event will be held Lillie’s Bordello in Dublin on Thursday 11th December and early bird tickets are sold out.

Saying Thanks

During the lead up the event the SUXmas elves asked the StartUp community to nominate people as the top helpers and mentors throughout the year as chance to give back. The SUXmas elves are doing a daily tweet out to just acknowledge those people who made a difference in the Startup Community and gift them tickets to SUXmas to give back. Check out the @SUXmas twitter feed to see which StartUp superstars made Santa’s nice list this year.
