Stobart Air launches Aircraft Engineer Apprenticeship training programme for 2019

Stobart Air, partner to leading airlines Aer Lingus, British Airways CityFlyer, KLM and Flybe, are now recruiting for their 2019 Aircraft Engineer Apprenticeship programme.

The airline has six places available for this year’s apprenticeship programme, an increase on previous years to meet continuously growing demand.

The four-year programme, commencing in September 2019, consists of six phases which are delivered in partnership with the Technological University Dublin (TUD), dedicated SOLAS training facilities (Dublin and Shannon, Co. Clare) and Stobart Air’s maintenance facility at Dublin Airport.

The apprenticeship includes both theoretical and practical experience in the course. Course content will focus on aerodynamics, propellers, gas turbine engines, electrical fundamentals, and much more.

Commenting on the announcement today, Graeme Buchanan, Managing Director of Stobart Air, said:

“The growth of Stobart Air’s apprenticeship programme speaks to the success of our training initiatives and our continued investment in existing staff and new recruits.

“On completion of this programme, Stobart Air apprentices are provided with the opportunity to use their qualification as a platform to enter relevant positions as engineers, managers, mechanics and teachers. We take pride in opening up professional opportunities for our apprentices to progress in their chosen field within the broader aviation industry.”
