Entrepreneurs and those interested in trying out life as a startup founder will gather in Cork, March 29th-31st for Techstars Startup Weekend.
Techstars Startup Weekend, powered by Google for Startups is the world’s biggest learning programme for entrepreneurs! It’s a 54-hour programme that runs from a Friday night to Sunday afternoon that brings together designers, developers, entrepreneurs, and experts from all domains to do amazing things.
At Techstars Startup Weekend, you’ll be immersed in the ideal environment for startup magic to happen. In just 54 hours, you will experience the highs, lows, fun, and pressure that make up life at a startup. As you learn how to create a real company, you’ll meet the very best mentors, investors, co-founders, and sponsors who are ready to help you get started.
Since starting in 2009, Techstars Startup Weekend has run in more than 150 countries with over 4000+ individual events for more than 250,000 participants.
Learn from the Best: Local mentors and coaches will be coming in throughout the event to coach you through the hard problems.
Get to Work: We’ve got the resources and support in place to make things happen in a short period of time. You’ll be responsible for everything from finding customers to building your product. We’ll be here to help when you need it.
Present in Front of Panel Judges: The culmination of the weekend. You’ll have 5 minutes to present the product or service you built to the crowd and a panel of experts.
This year’s event will take place at Cork’s city centre innovation campus, REPUBLIC OF WORK. Speaking about the event, CEO and Co-founder of REPUBLIC OF WORK, DC Cahalane spoke about who they would like to see attending;
“Techstars Startup Weekend is a brilliant opportunity for anyone who ever wondered what running their own business would be like. For 54 hours you face the challenges of developing an idea, making real business decisions, presenting and pitching your business and dealing with the multitude of challenges that face new businesses. We are encouraging anyone who’s ever fancied the idea of building a startup to come along and join us.”
Techstars Startup Weekend is a completely volunteer organised, not-for-profit event designed to power and effect real change in the entrepreneurial community around it. The event couldn’t happen without the support of local sponsors; Digisoft, LEO Cork City, Enterprise Ireland, Amazon AWS and Ronan Daly Jermyn.
