Sports Tech Transfer and R and D Summit Ghent opens its doors October 2018

When and where is it on?

25th & 26th October at the NH Ghent Belfort Hotel

How many years has it been going?

This in the first in the series and we are planning this to be an annual event. It will also serve as the annual event of EPSI (European Platform for Sports Innovation)

What was the inspiration to start it?

The summit aims to promote knowledge exchange between governing bodies, public authorities, academia and industry and to strengthen the cooperation and transfer of innovations from research labs into industrial exploitation in the field of sports. It further aims to encourage commercialization of innovative technologies developed at public and private research organizations and promote cooperation between research organizations and development groups in the sports sector. Key objectives are: to understand the political landscape for the sport sector and asses how it can facilitate technology transfer, to boost ideas supported by public private financial partnerships and to facilitate cooperation and transfer of knowledge between universities, businesses and sports organizations. Furthermore, it will define strategies for the development of evidence-based sports technologies, stimulate cross-industry / cross regional sport innovation while improving networks among academic researchers, R&D managers, civil servants and sports scientific staff members in teams

What exciting things can people look forward to?

Great speakers, a comprehensive agenda, fabulous networking opportunities and practical views of innovations happening in the sports arena today and how current research is being converted into the exciting products we see on the market today – and how to enhance this even further

What opportunities are on offer for those attending?

2 full days of conference discussions and an opportunity to shape their own innovation strategy further by listening to best in class speakers who have confirmed their attendance and connecting with others who seek to achieve the same goal as themselves

Who will be speaking?

See http://www.sportstechrandd.com/speakers.html. The list is regularly updated and more will be added later today or over the weekend

What tips would you give to people attending to get the most out of it?

Book early because tickets will be sold out because of the great interest which has been generated since we announced the summit

How can people book tickets / when does it usually sell out?

Tickets can be purchased on our Eventbrite registration page. The Early Bird booking period is now on so best to book now and save money. When we reach full capacity (which could be a couple of months out from the event) we will stop taking bookings because of venue restrictions

Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?

Thanks for your support and let’s work together to achieve a fantastic result!
