Specsavers has launched a new app which aims to help you choose the perfect pair of glasses to compliment your face shape and personal style.
The app allows users try on hundreds of frames in the privacy of their own home. Available to download for free on iOS devices from the App Store, the app then captures a selfie of you in your new specs.
Once the app has determined whether you are male or female, it captures a scan of your face, using the front-facing camera, and creates a model of your face allowing you to see the frames from every angle. Customers can virtually experiment with hundreds of frames and choose from brands such as Karl Lagerfeld, Love Moschino, Hackett, Jeff Banks and Converse.
Chairperson at Specsavers Ireland, Sinead Clohessy, says: ‘The new Try On app is a fantastic offering for people who are unsure of the correct frames for them. We all lead busy lives and this app allows people choose the frames best for them at a time that is convenient. It allows users choose their favourite frames before popping in store for a simple and seamless appointment with their optician. It is especially appealing to any first time glasses wearers that feel self-conscious trying on a range of frames in front of fellow customers’.
