The much rumoured Xperia Z1 Mini has been announced as the Z1 f in Japan this morning. Much the same as HTC did with the the One Mini, Sony has taken the bigger phone and shrunk it down to a more manageable 4.3″ screen size.
That usually translates to lower specs but what makes this phone pretty special is that it keeps the vast majority of it’s bigger brother’s specs with the only noticeable drop being in the screen resolution which falls from 1080p in the Z1 to 720p in the Z1 f.
The design is pretty much identical with the same glass construction, dust & water proof body and the same 20.7MP camera at the back.

At the moment there are only details for Japan with no mention of an international launch but we’re sure it’s only a matter time before these details follow. Sony have certainly been getting their act together of late and are producing some great phone now. This could certainly prove be one of their most popular.
