Sony announce their Jelly Bean and KitKat upgrade roadmap

Sony took to their Blog today to announce which devices will be upgraded to Jelly Bean and later then to KitKat. More importantly they also gave a time line for these updates.

From next month devices will start getting upgraded to Android 4.3 on a phased basis. As always, this is for unbranded devices so if you bought your device from a network, you’ll probably have to wait significantly longer.

So here’s the list: Xperia ZXperia ZLXperia ZRXperia Tablet ZXperia SPXperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1

The following devices will jump from Android 4.1 straight to 4.3:  Xperia T, Xperia TX and Xperia V

Sony has been a little less clear with time lines for the KitKat upgrade but has indicated that the Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia Tablet Z, Xperia Z Ultra and Xperia Z1 will see it first.

We’ll update accordingly once we get more info on this but it is looking like it will be sometime early next year.
