By @SimonCocking, interesting interview with Anar Babaev, co-founder of ICOBox.  An internet entrepreneur focused on mastering and implementing new technologies, which now also include blockchain and ICO related innovationss.

Business Showcase : ICOBox

What is your background briefly?

I’ve been deeply and closely involved in digital marketing for 14 years. As an internet entrepreneur, I’ve been focusing on mastering and implementing new technologies. I have vast experience in advertising and product promotion. As a business angel I co-founded, supported, and developed several IT startups and my own advertising network. Founder of – an online platform offering a “building blocks” approach to automating website design. For the past year I have been focusing on blockchain, specifically on cryptocurrencies; and for the past 6 months – on product development and cryptocurrency mining. I co-authored several books on digital advertising.

Does it seem like a logical background to what you do now?

I’d say that my background is anything but narrow. I have always tried to be on the cutting edge, and ICOBox is THE thing right now.

1 min pitch for what you are doing now?

I am a co-founder & CMO at ICOBox. ICOBox is the first and the biggest new generation blockchain growth promoter and business facilitator for companies seeking to sell their products via ICO crowdsales, an opportunity to collect hundreds of millions of dollars. ICOBox is currently conducting a sale of its ICOS token which offers its holders deep discounts on tokens of new projects which will be issued using ICOBox’s tools. To startups ICOBox offers its automated tools and consultations to help them conduct their ICOs without paying upfront. In exchange these projects will give ICOS platform a set number of their future tokens which will be exchangeable for ICOS tokens at a ratio of 4:1. ICOBox is currently planning to help launch up to 800 ICOs in the first year of its operations.

As a Business Angel, how do you decide who deserves your support and who doesn’t?

For angels trying to find the perfect company to support I have good news and bad news. First the bad news: There is no perfect company to support. Any project will have its risks. Now the good news: These risks can be mitigated by asking the right questions and digging for solid answers.

Why did you get involved with ICOBox and cryptocurrencies?

It happened gradually. In my professional life I always wanted to be on the forefront of my profession. And that’s where I believe the market is going these days: cryptocurrencies and ICOs will soon be ruling the day.

From your own successes, what tips would you give to other people looking to launch an ICO, and to start a business in general?

Some startup owners seem to think that ICO is a tool for any project. It allows to quickly gain support and bypass the long and costly process of registering as a security issuer with the market regulator. While that might’ve been the common practice during the early days of the ICO market, these days it is frown upon.

Like everything else in the crypto industry, the ICO ecosystem is shaping up rapidly. There are informal standards in place that now play the role of the de facto requirements to having a successful token sale campaign. The first and foremost requirement here is generating value for the users. And I do think it’s the very important goal for any business.

Tell us more about the books you have written on digital marketing – what aspects did you cover? What tips would you give to a company trying to decide which social media platform(s) to advertise on?

Naturally, my books are about how to use internet to make a decent living and how to market your products in digital era. Work on-line – work for yourself. It does not matter where you live, the opportunities for finding an online job are about equal for city dwellers and people from rural areas. Anybody can find an interesting opportunity. In my book you will find recommendations, interviews with Internet entrepreneurs, practical tips on how to make the Internet your new workplace, etc.

As for social media platform to advertise on – there is no universal one, the one that is suitable for everyone. Basically, it depends on what product do you have and who is your target audience. This is the main tip that applies universally – know your target audience.
