Emeric Ernoult @eernoult Social media and Facebook marketing addict. Facebook marketing blogger. Serial entrepreneur and loving it! Founder & CEO, Agorapulse

Your background, how did you get into what you do now?

I started my career as a business lawyer, far from Social Media and software! But in 1997, the world was a different place.

I had the entrepreneur syndrome in my DNA, so I left the bar in 2001 and started my first web company, I failed, did another one, semi failed and Agorapulse is the latest one (started in 2011) and is growing well!

1 minute pitch, what do you do and why is it awesome?

We help businesses and agencies manage Social Media accounts faster and with a more user friendly interface.

Apart from our user interface that’s really awesome, we also help identify fans and followers and spot the best ones, that’s pretty unique.

What are you excited by at the moment?

What I’m really excited about is that we’ve been named one of the best Social Media management software of 2015, even beating the “big guys” on many aspects. And we were able to get there without any VC funding and with a team of 15 whee the other contenders have at least 10 times our headcount and big VC money. The ranking is here:

Any of these that will help in your day to day work also / what sort innovations are you looking to introduce?

Among the things we’re working on, there’s a new publishing system that will save us a ton of time, I can’t wait to use it.The other big project we’re working on is to connect Social Media data with existing CRM and emailing data. Taking Social Media out of its silo is something I’m very excited about. I think it will change how people look at the value they create out of their community management efforts.

How was the last 12 months for you?

Hectic. Way too much work. That’s what it cost to double revenue every year I guess!

What are you most happy about?

My team. Building a great team you can rely on and are happy to work with is the greatest joy of an entrepreneur!

Anything you would do differently if you could?

I would not offer features that people will only use for a limited time (like contest and promotion). They kill your business growth.

Where do you hope to be in next 1 – 3 years?

I hope we’ll have taken Social data out of its silo and connected it with all other marketing channels, finally allowing businesses to attribute value to Social.

Have you been to the Dublin Web Summit before?

Nope, first time, very excited about that!

What will you be doing when you attend this year?

I’m not speaking, just having a booth. But if I was speaking, it would be about our journey, our successes and failures and what people can learn from them.

What tech do you wish was already invented and available to make your life easier?

Cloning? 😉

Life / work, online / offline, what are your strategies for managing it?

I’m not good at that, I work too much and am online too much too.

I just take 2 week vacations twice a year to really spend quality time with my family and disconnect.

How / where do you create time for yourself to be a dreamer and a thinker?

Same problem here, not doing good here. Too much involved in the day to day of the business…
