Global issues discussed with Roshan Bhondekar, who created The Shoes, short film about social change, which won the Award in Accolade Global Film Competition, USA.

What is your background briefly?

I am Roshan Bhondekar an Indian-born Spanish author, columnist and film writer cum director of award winning short films, known for the non-fiction book ‘Love-The Key to Optimism, noticed by John C. Maxwell -New York Times bestselling author and received the mention in his book ‘No Limits’.  As a filmmaker have recently made award winning short films, The Shoes (2019) and Hausla Aur Raste (2018). My mission is to motivate & inspire people through writing and film making.

Does it seem like a logical background to what you do now?

No, I should be working in film industry for making creative films being an artist. Being an IT professional engineer, working with IT multi national company in Spain, whereas both industries are different and it doesn’t have any logical similarities in what I am doing at the office. But, working for social causes while showcasing ideas through film making always makes me happy.

1 min pitch for what you are doing now?

Currently working on upcoming social theme short film projects, for social awareness. This short film will talk about how mindset cancer can change the perception of people. Simultaneously, working with an IT multinational company as a leader.

Why did you get involved with the project?

Have seen the extreme struggle of my parents and even personally I have struggled to get what I wanted so far and succeeded in the journey. Thought to share the experience and how people judged you based on your way of wearing clothes and way of living life.

Why do you think it is such a powerful idea?

As we all living in a fast-moving world, social awareness is the key to educate people about global social issues. I think, if we all try to find the solution to current global social issues, it would be a turning point for humanity to contribute towards social development.

How can people find out more about you personally & your work?

People can find out me through google https://g.co/kgs/rJbyR2 and twitter https://twitter.com/roshan_b

Anything else you’d like to add / we should have asked?

I think social theme-based film projects are mainly non-commercial especially short films. In this regard, if people feel the theme and subject of the film is worth to take it forward, then they should consider as worth cause to help to new filmmakers to reach their ideas to every part of the world and wider audience.
